How To Change Your Life With One Sentence
Learn how to be the captain of your life
For most of my life, I didn’t love or approve of myself. I lived in the opposite, a life ridden with self-hatred and the belief that I was un-loveable.
My romantic relationships reflected the relationship I had with myself — undeserving of the good in life.
The lack of self-esteem ate away at me, and I tried to validate myself with upgrading my exterior, so everyone else believed I felt good — but inside, I was miserable and didn’t know what to do.
The dark place I was living in made it feel impossible to do the necessities. Waking up in the morning, or what typically would be the afternoon, my view consisted of dirty clothes, dishes piled up, and my lock screen littered with notifications of text messages left unread for hours. Depression at it’s finest. But my room reflected how I felt on the inside — that is until I discovered the book ‘You Can Heal Your Life’ by Louise Hay.
As Louise so eloquently describes in her book, many of our ideas and beliefs came from childhood and our caregivers, and a lot of times they are harmful and inaccurate. This realization made me start to go back and re-evaluate my concepts.
